A Message from our Chairman: Statement in Support of our Asian and Asian American Communities

By: Randall G. Schriver |

In light of increased violence and other racist, malign acts directed towards Asian and Asian American communities since the onset of COVID-19, and especially over the past several weeks, the Project 2049 Institute condemns—in the strongest possible terms—these actions and the individuals engaging in them. Violence, harassment, and inflammatory rhetoric against Asian and Asian American communities are abhorrent. Such actions completely contradict the American values and principles that our organization so proudly supports and seeks to strengthen throughout the Indo-Pacific.

Given our research and program focus, we have always had a special relationship with our Asian and Asian American communities. As such, we feel compelled to add our voice to those of many others who have denounced these cowardly acts of violence. We cannot ignore these issues as we work towards a safer world that supports the fundamental human rights of all individuals, both in the Indo-Pacific and at home.

The Honorable Randall G. Schriver

Chairman
The Project 2049 Institute
