A Message from our Chairman: In Memory of President Lee Teng-hui

Today, our community mourns the loss of a titan of Taiwanese politics and a true champion of democracy, President Lee Teng-hui. Throughout his life, President Lee was a superlative leader, reformist, and public servant. 

President Lee’s contributions to the liberalization of his country, and to the institution of democracy itself, will no doubt be enshrined in history. His passionate advocacy for free and fair elections, and equal representation for all citizens, has left an indelible mark on the course of Taiwan’s political trajectory.  

We are comforted by the knowledge that President Lee’s legacy will live on in Taiwan’s vibrant democracy.
